Pelikan Beta 1400 V2 kit # 4ST1479-K
ALPHA 1500 is no longer alone in the sky! The elegant motor glider is followed by the durable BETA 1400 flight model. This reliable and high-performance school and training motor glider is ideal for newcomers to flight, who it leads from learning the country to acrobatic figures and thermal sailing. It also delights hobby pilots, for whom it offers a space-saving and easily transportable model for great, relaxed model flying. Our quick construction kit gives you the pleasant feeling that you have built this elegant and great flying model all by yourself - you can also use your supplies of servos, speed controllers and batteries.
BETA 1400 is made of the highly resistant, extruded polypropylene EPP and is operated with a Bruhsless motor. Thanks to the motor placed on the pylon behind the wing, it withstands rough handling very well and also tolerates plug-in landings that would damage the propeller in classic models with a motor in the nose of the fuselage.
The fuselage is made of EPP foam and has a motor pylon behind the wing. The pylon is prepared for the installation of the brushless motor with rotary jacket CD2622 contained in the kit. Bowden cables for the linkage of the vertical stabilizer and horizontal stabilizer are already glued in. For the positioning of the servos, slots are prepared that correspond to the dimensions of the Hitec HS-55 or HS-65HB servos. The canopy is removable with magnetic locks. The two-part wing is also foamed from EPP, the ailerons are moved with 2 servos that are connected in the wing with short rods. Slots are already prepared for the aileron servos, which correspond to the Hitec HS-55 or HS-65HB servos. The surface halves are put together with carbon tube connectors. The tail units in the classic arrangement are foamed from EPP and are connected with Bowden cables. The engine is cooled by the airflow that flows through the pylon and the engine openings. Ailerons, rudder and elevator and motor regulation are controlled.
You need at least a 4-channel RC set to operate the model. In this case both servos of the ailerons are connected to one channel with the help of the Y-cable (part of the kit). When connecting the receiver, follow the operating instructions for your RC set. It is ideal if you have at least one 5-channel RC computer set that allows independent operation of the aileron servos. In this case you can set a differentiation of the aileron deflections; At the beginning we recommend 50% - i.e. the downward aileron deflection is half as large as the upward deflection. It is also useful to mix the ailerons so that they deflect upwards at the same time, acting as an aerodynamic brake to facilitate landing. You appreciate that on smaller land areas and especially when flying on slopes. When setting the aerodynamic brakes, note that the ailerons can still deflect upwards even when they are fully deflected.
The speed controller should have a load capacity of at least 18 A - ideal is e.g. B. RAY 18A.
To power the BETA 1400 you need the 3-cell Li-po battery 11.1 V with a capacity of at least 1300 mAh (load capacity 20C). The model can easily carry 3-cell lipopacks up to a capacity of 2200 mAh.
BETA 1400 is suitable for beginners - we always recommend - to undertake their first take-offs under the supervision of an experienced pilot in order to enjoy a relaxing time with model flying. The flight characteristics are pleasant. The model introduces you to the complete control of the model around all three axes by controlling the vertical stabilizer, ailerons and horizontal stabilizer. This experience is useful when you start to fly your first acro model or (semi) scale. You can adjust the rudder travel by changing the length ratios of the servo and rudder levers. The flight novice starts with small fluctuations; the experienced pilot sets large swings, which also allow a bit of basic acrobatics - BETA manages loops, barrel rolls and turns quite well! The engine's power is sufficient for a very steep climb. The model is not over-assembled, which could cause difficulties for newcomers. BETA 1400 can also take advantage of weak thermals and stay in the sky for a long time.
The quick construction kit contains: Foamed fuselage made of EPP, foamed wings made of EPP, tail units made of EPP, carbon tube connector, CD2622 brushless motor, 5x4 "rigid propeller, bag with small accessories and detailed instructions for building and flying.
